Tender Lullabies: Soothing Classic Piano Melodies CD
TENDER LULLABIES TESTIMONIALS
The CD is incredibly soothing and calming. We like it as much as the baby. I love how slow it is. We never have to worry that the music will quicken and excite the baby. It doesn't sound cutesy like so much of children's music out there. I loved recognizing the pieces of music while putting my daughter to sleep. Especially Pachelbel's Canon, which we had at our wedding. I feel that I am passing great works down to my daughter to help her feel safe and loved.

Thank you so much for this wonderful CD! I have 5 CD for helping baby sleep, and this is the first one that actually works. (We really do not like the CDs we already had - too cheesy with weird voices singing - and love this one!) I think that is because the melodies calm ME down, and the vibe transmits to my darling baby! I listen to this CD even when baby is not around, and my boyfriend always comments how much he likes the last song.

It is nice calming music... like a heartbeat. My baby would fall asleep with me patting her back to the music.

When I first started playing it for my baby, he honestly preferred the womb recording that we had. Then, he started to get more interested in the CD. He recently went through a developmental spurt (around 4.5 months) and is OBSESSED with the CD. It works like a charm at bed time and he will play in his crib for an hour in the morning listening to it. It is currently the most valuable item in our household. I want to say that I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and would certainly buy it for a baby shower gift.

My favorite part of the CD is the relaxing music and pace because it really helped to settle Isaac down. Isaac can be very hard to settle down at nap time. When I played the CD, he was sound asleep by the fourth song. Plus the CD relaxed me as well so it was a win-win situation.

It's a great CD. I like the over all sound. I like the fact that the music is slow, calming, and is simple to the ears.

The collection of classical songs is really great. The songs are soft and soothing. It's almost more relaxing for us than it is for our baby. We listen to it at night when going through her final diaper change and getting in her pajamas. It is a relaxing time for both of us and having the mellow music is not only calming to her but lets me enjoy the moment a little more too. I also sometimes listen to the music while I nurse her. Without the cd I find my head drifting off to lists of things to do, but the music encourages me to relax and enjoy the moment. It's particularly nice to have just classical music and no "baby" songs. I particularly find this relaxing while breastfeeding.

The slow pace, it even helps ME relax. but after a minute I realize it is exactly what the baby needs. I think it takes a bit of experience to know it is what works for the baby that matters, not what (style of music) you enjoy yourself.

We love your CD. (It's been) useful in our house and the CD is effective in settling us all down before bed. I especially appreciated that the songs were familiar yet different. I could not get over how calming the songs were in these more simple renditions. I found myself wanting to curl up next to my baby after sitting in his room together, winding down for bedtime. The same songs in their original versions would have wound us up, not down. Well done.

I like the peaceful, mellow feel (and) I really like the music selections and the quality of the performance... really well done and beautiful.

"Tender Lullabies: Soothing Classic Piano Melodies CD"
(11 tracks, 34 minutes running time)
Each beautiful song on the Tender Lullabies CD has been specifically arranged for babies, offering a calming assortment of classic piano melodies that tug ever so gently on the heartstrings. From the shimmering opening notes of the well-loved Brahms Lullaby, these gentle melodies weave a hypnotic spell that will effortlessly transport your baby into dreamland.
Each soothing song is played at 60 beats per minute -resting heart rate tempo- which in minutes slows baby's heart and respiration rates, lowers blood pressure, and brings on sleep.
Simply, yet amazingly effective.
Due to the lulling nature of this music, do not listen to this CD while driving.

About the Tender Lullabies CD
From controversial baby sleep training methods like cry-it-out and "Ferberizing" to co-sleeping in a family bed, parents everywhere are desperate for a good night's sleep. The Tender Lullabies CD offers a stress-free baby sleep training method that is loving and nurturing. Because the process is physiology based, it's effective for all baby temperaments and parenting styles.
For best results, play Tender Lullabies quietly, at every naptime and bedtime, as part of your family's usual routine. Repeated use of this CD establishes a biofeedback loop, so that your baby learns to associate sleepiness with the music. Over time, your baby will fall asleep more and more quickly, as the stimulus/response pattern deepens. So the more you use the CD, the better it works. It's that easy.
Moms tell me that not only do their babies fall asleep quickly, but the music helps them to wind down and relax at the end of a long day. Dads especially, will love the intimacy that this approach allows them to share with their babies when they're on bedtime duty.
As an added benefit, because this gentle, natural method of bringing on sleep is not dependent upon a specific person, you can securely leave your baby with another family member or sitter, knowing that your baby will be able to fall asleep easily without you. Tender Lullabies is also effective for getting infants back to sleep after nighttime feedings, as well as when training older babies and toddlers to sleep through the night.

The Science Behind the System
Numerous studies on music's effect on human physiology demonstrate that listening to slow, meditative music lowers blood pressure, slows breathing and heart rates, and reduces stress and anxiety. Conversely, listening to up tempo music raises heart and respiration rates, and increases stress (either positive or negative stimulation) levels. Furthermore, the level of stimulation or relaxation is directly proportional to the tempo and complexity of the music.
Music, like all other sounds, causes the inner ear to vibrate. These vibrations are transformed into electrical impulses that are relayed through the cerebral cortex to the hypothalamus, a small area of the brain that regulates heart rate.
Concurrently, as respiration slows the vagus nerve (part of our parasympathetic nervous system, which transmits sensory information from various organs including the heart, lungs and intestines to the brain) is activated. Mild stimulation of the vagus nerve lowers heart and respiration rates, and the nerve then sends the "all-clear" signal back to the brain, completing the circuit. The body then enters a state of deep relaxation and calmness, and for our purposes here, is prepared for sleep.
